Fashion icons get made into knit dolls

Fashion Buzz

Saturday, February 02, 2013

A Bali-based company makes hand-made knit dolls that resemble fashion icons and celebrities like Vogue editor Anna Wintour, designer Karl Lagerfeld, and superstar couple Jay-Z and Beyoncé. Each tiny creation retails for about US$134.

An Indonesia knit company turned the larger-than-life Vogue editor into a tiny, hand-made doll, complete with Wintour's trademark black sunglasses and iconic bob. She joins fellow fashion icons Karl Lagerfeld, Alexander McQueen and Donatella Versace, who have also received the doll treatment from Bali-based Mua Mua. Lagerfeld's all-black ensemble and bright white hair are spot-on for the famed designer, while Versace's plump red lips and platinum locks highlight the features for which she's known best. Each doll wears a tiny tag with its name. The company has also created replicas of Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Jimi Hendrix and Andy Warhol.
