The frequency with which one waters depends on a few things. These are the:

1. area in which you reside;

2. time of the year;

3. medium in which the orchid is planted.

First: Compare Stony Hill to Portmore. Stony Hill has lots of rain, while Portmore has lots of heat. The difference in watering is a lot. Adjust accordingly.

Second: In the summer months we all need much more water than in the October to April months; the same goes for the plants.

Third: Examine the medium in which the plant is growing to see whether it absorbs water or it runs through.

All these factors must be considered when watering.
