The gorgeous, vivacious and petite Adrienne Bailon, former 3LW and Cheetah Girls band member, made the trip to The Rock as part of Ne-Yo's Compound Island team. SO caught up with the singer, songwriter and actress at the Secrets Resorts & Spa in Montego Bay recently for a quick tête-à-tête.

What are you sipping today?

Rum punch.

What kind of day are you having?

I've been having an amazing day, actually, just relaxing and having a great time on Compound Island.

Socialite or homebody?

I'm a little bit of both, honestly. It depends, though. If there's a party that I know I definitely don't want to miss, then I'll definitely be there. I hate hearing about what a good time everybody had, knowing I wasn't there. Then there are those days when you just can't get me out of my apartment.

Flats or stilettos?

Definitely stilettos! I'm five feet.

Jeans or LBD?

LBD.

What was the transition like for you, moving from a teenaged singer to an adult songstress in the entertainment industry?

For me it's been really easy because the changes have been gradual. I didn't become a grown-up overnight; it was a series of slow steps that brought me here, so I was able to keep up.

Currently a solo artiste, what can we expect from you in the near future?

I have a musical coming out soon on ABC Family, it's the first musical that I've done for them. It's called Elixir and its due to premiere in April. I'm currently signed to Compound Island with Ne-Yo, so he will be working on my solo album; I'm really excited about that. I also have a television show coming out really soon, that I can't speak about just yet but that's definitely something to look forward to.

Crazy, sexy, cool.

Me.

Who does your nails?

Me.

What is your must-have accessory?

My red lips.

Who are your favourite musicians?

I love Gloria Estefan, Selena, and Pink is actually one of my favourite artistes as well.

What do you enjoy most about Jamaica?

It is my first time to the island and I love the weather. The beaches are beautiful. The people are friendly and fun, and I love the food. I'm definitely looking forward to visiting again.

And the music?

I love it. I'm a huge fan of Sean Paul and I love Shaggy as well. I'd love to do a record with Sean Paul and Gyptian. Totally love Gyptian. That Hold Yuh track is one of my faves.

What's your idea of the perfect date?

I'm a weirdo, so I like group activities. You know, couples going on vacations together. I love amusement parks too.

What's your idea of the perfect man?

Someone who is emotionally available, honest and loyal. I like someone who is really funny and must be able to handle my personality. I love a man who can cook.

What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?

Be yourself, everyone else is taken.

What is your proudest achievement to date?

Starting in this industry at 15 years old with no connection to anyone in Hollywood or entertainment, and 13 years later I'm still around. That for me is a huge accomplishment in itself.

When you are not working, where is the best place to find you?

In my apartment.

Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?

Hopefully with a really established career. I'm starting a nail polish line and a clothing line, so I see myself being an entrepreneur by that time. Hopefully I'm married with kids, too.
