American model scouts Dana Cooper and Delpha Ramos are mightily impressed with the strong jawlines, stunning faces and runway-ready bodies of The Rock's model hopefuls they saw at Saint International's Fashion Face of the Caribbean 2012 last weekend. We catch up post-show at the Courtleigh Auditorium over cocktails with Cooper, a scout with Women Management in New York, and Ramos, a scout with Elite in the Big Apple, and share fashion deets. What are you sipping?

Dana & Delpa: Apple martinis.

What's been the highlight of your stay in Jamaica?

Dana: The delicious jerk chicken and Jamaican rum.

Delpha: There are so many great memories, but the most unexpected was the amazing food — so unique, spicy and savoury. You guys have some amazing restaurants. I loved the dining experience in Jamaica.

What are your impressions on the modelling talent in Jamaica? How does the 'model look' of Jamaicans stack up against other islands you've visited?

Dana: The girls are naturally gorgeous, the bodies are amazing, the faces are impeccable and their personalities so cool and laid back.

Delpha: The height and bodies are unlike any other I've seen. The girls are all naturally high fashion model height with the most amazingly slender and elegant bodies.

Flats or stilettos?

Dana: Stilettos.

Delpha: Stilettos! I'm 5 feet 3 inches and I'm constantly surrounded by and taking photos of models, so I try my best to get up to their eye level. (laughs)

Jeans or LBD?

Dana: Jeans all the way! I feel sexiest in jeans, a T-shirt and heels.

Delpha: LBD. It works for every occasion, from day to night, and travels easy when you're on the go. Throw it on and go, you're instantly polished and put together.

What's your must-have accessory?

Dana: My Celine handbag.

Delpha: Chanel Rouge Coco lipstick. It's creamy but leaves a stain so I don't have to reapply. My favourite colour is No. 31-- cambon watermelon red — that goes with everything.

Who does your hair?

Dana: Vincent Mincheli at Arrojo Salon in New York City.

Delpha: Bumble & Bumble in Manhattan — Rocco for haircuts and Pauline for colour.

Who does your nails?

Dana: Haven Spa in New York City.

Delpha: Anyone of the ladies at Clover Nails on Park Avenue South. They do the best manicures I've ever gotten and for only $8. Kim Kardashian started coming in religiously while she was filming the last season of her show.

What five words best describe you?

Dana : Driven, athletic, animal lover, fun and passionate.

Delpha: Stunning, interesting, down to earth, sweet and funny.

Which fashion designers' clothes makes you impulsively charge it to your credit card on shopping trips?

Dana: Isabel Marant and Acne.

Delpha: So many but if I had to pick, Jill Stuart or Erin Fetherston. I can't say no to a cute dress.

What's your idea of the perfect man?

Dana: My boyfriend. Strong and tough on the outside, sensitive and thoughtful on the inside.

Delpha: My husband Francois. He's down to earth, warm and honest.

What's your idea of the perfect date?

Dana: Cooking together at home and sharing a bottle of wine.

Delpha: Dinner and a movie followed by a stroll under the stars. I'm a classic romantic gal.

What's the best piece of advice you've ever received?

Dana: Honesty is the best policy.

Delpha: Be yourself.

Where's the best place to find you when you're not working?

Dana: At home with my boyfriend and puppy.

Delpha: At home with hubby watching old French movies.

Why did you want to get into the modelling biz?

Dana: Ever since I can remember, I've been obsessed with fashion, models and designers. An opportunity came up for me to work for an agency in New York City and I moved from Oklahoma two weeks later. That was 10 years ago.

Delpha: I was in Paris and needed a job where I could use more English than French while I was still learning. I got my MBA in international marketing and wanted to develop new make-up products, but really anything fashion related was interesting to me. I interviewed at Elite Paris and fell in love with my boss and the feeling was mutual. Within three months I knew I was meant for this life.

Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?

Dana: Married with two kids and still being inspired by new faces for the modelling industry.

Delpha: Still scouting for Elite North America but maybe coming home to a few children as well as a fabulous husband.
