Dear Editor,

We are happy for and with the Sunshine Girls for being crowned the Sunshine Series 2018 winners. The Sunshine Girls won their five matches — two against Trinidad and Tobago and three against England — at the National Indoor Sports Centre a few days ago.

Romelda Aiken and Jhaniele Fowler-Reid, who are the two tallest ladies on the team, are like a mighty force on the team.

Overall, the entire team truly put on a good show. They unleashed some skilful passes, some superb goal shots, with vigorous and united combinations against their opponents, which resulted in a clean sweep.

It wasn't only our yam and dasheen why our girls were so good and effective, but it was also the power of the sun, because they are from the land of sunshine.

We miss former coach of the Sunshine Girls, Connie Francis very much, and also Simone Forbes, who was such a good player. Why has Simone retired from the games so early? She should still be playing. Get back on the team, Sim.

Congratulations to our lovely Sunshine Girls on your victories. We are looking forward for more success in your upcoming overseas matches. Continue to shine like the noonday sun.
