Letters to the Editor
Follow Stewart's advice
Thursday, February 16, 2012
Dear Editor,
I cannot express enough my admiration for Butch Stewart for encouraging Jamaican businesses to develop international markets. Essentially, Stewart has taken on the role of the Government in promoting our products overseas, which comes as no surprise, considering the limitations in the Jamaican political system, regardless of who is in power.
What Stewart has done is exactly what we need coming from leadership. No longer will we rely on the government to make life-changing decisions for us. They have failed us for too long.
As long as Jamaica continues to be a democracy, we the citizens will exercise our full right to invest internationally, even if we do not receive any assistance from the government. This is the mentality that we must develop as Jamaicans to transcend the limitations imposed upon us by government.
