Letters to the Editor
Congratulations!
Wednesday, January 25, 2012
Dear Editor,
I wish to congratulate Mr Wensworth Skeffery for his appointment to the Senate on behalf of his Hampton family. We trust he will have as transformative an effect on his future endeavours as he did as physics teacher at Hampton for four years.
With average Grade 11 cohorts of 170, 85 sat Physics at CSEC with an average pass rate of 99 per cent and 38 per cent distinctions. In a subject that girls usually shy away from, in 2011 one of his students placed first in Jamaica.
As academic representative on the board, Mr Skeffery didn't limit his scope to representing teachers, but participated fully in the direction of the school.
We will miss you, Mr Skeffery, and we wish you Godspeed as you broaden your horizon on the national stage.
