Commendations to LIME
Sunday, February 05, 2012
Dear Editor,
Bigger isn't necessarily better, or was the slogan just a tactical bluff?
It was a LIME sim card and an unlocked smartphone that aided the operations of my business during the Jazz and Blues weekend. I ventured to the country with confidence in the capability of my cellphone to send and receive e-mail; so I left my laptop at home. However, I regretted doing so.
Digicel, being so efficient, did not even allow efficient communication via BlackBerry Messenger. Not becoming at all of a company that is about to take on the customers of a company it has merged with.
If you are marketing your company as "the bigger, better network", that's what people are expecting of your services. A telecommunications company should be up to the standard where customers can rely on one mobile device to cover e-mail, messenger services and the basic functions of a cellphone.
I must commend LIME for the remarkable mobile service in the same area where Digicel's services failed terribly. Those customers who were abducted by Digicel, under their merger with the sold-out Claro, must be going through withdrawal.
I'm just happy my Digicel disappointment has played out to a wonderful LIME delight. My Digicel number is now permanently abandoned as I have switched to a better network. "LIME for living everyday" — I can attest to that.
