Cop reportedly found with stolen motor vehicle

TRELAWNY, Jamaica — The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) says a police constable was arrested on  reasonable suspicion of larceny of motor vehicle in Falmouth, Trelawny on Monday.

According to the police, the owner of the motor vehicle discovered that it was missing from a Kingston address about 7:30 am and reported the matter to the Rollington Town police. An investigation was immediately launched and the motor car found in the constable's possession in Trelawny, the JCF said in a release from its Corporate Communications Unit (CCU).

The constable was taken into custody however; his identity has been withheld pending further investigation.

CCU said the Inspectorate of Constabulary (IOC) is jointly investigating.
