KINGSTON, Jamaica — The National Water Commission (NWC) is seeking a qualified developer to finance, design, construct and operate a new complex at its property on Oxford Road in Kingston under a proposed public-private partnership agreement.

NWC, in a statement today, said the redevelopment of the 9,290 square-metre property is part of its strategy to reduce its costs, increase its potential revenue earning capabilities and to improve efficiencies in service delivery.

The commission is opting to reserve for itself approximately 2,800 square metres of space, while the remaining square footage is expected to be made available for rental by other public and private sector entities.

Vernon Barrett, Vice President, Investments and Performance Monitoring at NWC said the organisation will also be utilising eco-friendly building concept in the design and construction of the new office complex.

"This is one of the key measures to ensuring operational efficiency," he said.

Interested developers can download the expression of interest document from the NWC's website or contact its purchasing department at 876-926-5825-7 for additional information.

Prospective bidders are urged to submit their bids no later than Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at 11:00 am.
