KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Meteorological Service of Jamaica says this morning should be mainly sunny, however, isolated showers and thunderstorms are expected across sections of central and western parishes.

Windy conditions are also expected across southern coastal areas.Tonight should be mainly fair.

Meanwhile, Met Service said that a trough is expected to remain across the island until tomorrow when a tropical wave becomes the significant feature.

In a second advisory this morning, the weather service advised that at 4:00 am the centre of post-tropical storm Beryl was located near latitude 38.6 degrees North and longitude 62.4 degrees West or 735 km north-northeast of Bermuda.

It is moving toward the east-northeast near 20 km/h. A turn toward the northeast and a faster forward speed are expected tomorrow, with this motion continuing through early Tuesday.

Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 55 km/h with higher gusts, Met Service said, adding that gradual weakening is expected during the next day or so, and the low is forecast to dissipate on Tuesday.

The remnants of subtropical storm Beryl is not a threat to Jamaica.
