ST JAMES, Jamaica — World-renowned franchise, Usain Bolt’s Tracks and Records (UBT&R) has officially opened the doors of its third restaurant in St James Place Plaza on Montego Bay’s bustling Hip Strip.

The grand opening welcomes Christopher Issa and the Crissa Entertainment Group to the Usain Bolt’s Tracks and Records family as the newest franchisee.

According to Mark Hart, Montego Bay businessman involved in the development of UBT&R Montego Bay and the Spanish Court Hotel, "The investment being made by the Crissa Entertainment Group into Tracks and Records has contributed to the renewal of Montego Bay’s Hip Strip, which has, for a long time had several hotels and other entertainment facilities that were not in operation".

He said this new addition lends great potential to a prime area where persons can have access to a local experience.

Meanwhile, track legend, Usain Bolt said: “The partnership between myself and the KLE group in introducing the Tracks & Records brand “to the world” has been an exciting journey.

“We started with the first location in Kingston, then Ocho Rios location and we are now opening in Montego Bay, and with each location it keeps getting better and better,” he said.

He added that overall it is a great feeling to be a part of such a dynamic, fast growing brand both in Jamaica and worldwide.

“Over the next few years there will be over 15 locations opening across the UK, however, this location is particularly special because not only does it reflect the image and accomplishments I have made throughout my career but it bears a statue of me in the front, which is awesome,” he said.

Gary Matalon, franchisor and KLE director in the meantime provided more insight about the growth of the UBT&R brand.

He said “It’s a significant milestone for us in the life of the brand. Montego Bay has always been somewhere we felt would be ideal for this concept.

“We are very excited about entering the Montego Bay market at this time, and are looking forward to working and growing with the Crissa Entertainment Group who fit our franchisee profile to a T,” he ended.

The new 5,300 square foot space is said to honour the quintessential “Tracks & Records” vibe with vibrant colours, Jamaican tunes and delicious Jamaican flavours with its double-volume space features and of course the world “records” of the “track” legend himself.
