KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Union of Clerical Administrative & Supervisory Employees (UCASE) this afternoon announced that it has gained the right to represent senior management, professional and technical, senior (MPT) group of employees at the State-owned oil refinery Petrojam.

The union said it was given the vote of confidence following a poll that was conducted by the Ministry of Labour and Social Security on November 22 at Petrojam's Marcus Garvey Drive offices.

UCASE reported that 28 people were eligible to vote.

Twenty-five voted for UCASE, while three voted for the Bustamante Industrial Trade Union, signalling what the UCASE said is its position as the “energy sector union”.
