KINGSTON, Jamaica — A tropical wave over the eastern Caribbean is expected to influence weather conditions across the island over the weekend, according to the Meteorological (Met) Service of Jamaica.

The MetService in a release this afternoon said that the tropical wave is expected to move in the vicinity of the island on Friday.

As a result, the island is expected to experience periods of moderate to heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms across sections of most parishes during the afternoon on Friday into Saturday.

The MetService said that they will continue to monitor the situation.
