Teen boy held with gun in St James

ST JAMES, Jamaica — A 16-year-old boy was yesterday afternoon arrested and charged with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition during a patrol in Birch Hill, St James.

Reports from the Montego Hills police are that about 1:05 pm, a police team on patrol accosted the minor who they said was acting in a suspicious manner.

He was searched and a 9mm C275 Compact Luger Pistol loaded with a magazine containing fourteen rounds removed from his waistband.

A court date is to be announced at a later date.

Investigations continue.
