St James police seize firearm, eight people in custody
ST JAMES, Jamaica — Eight people are now in police custody following the seizure of a .45 pistol along with nine .45 rounds of ammunition inside a clothes basket during an operation in Retirement district, Granville, St James yesterday.
Reports from the police's Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) are that about 7:20 am, a team was conducting operations in the area when a house was searched and the firearm and ammunition found.
The eight people, including three juveniles and two females, were subsequently taken into custody.
The police say they are conducting further investigations prior to laying formal charges.
