ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — The police are reporting that the skeletal remains of a person of unidentified gender, and the decomposing body of a man were recovered from shallow graves along the bank of a canal in March Pen, Spanish Town.

Reports are that on Friday police personnel and relatives of a 21-year-old man who was reported missing last Monday went in search of the youth. The missing man was reportedly last seen at about 3:45 pm in Spanish Town, on his way to report on condition of bail at the police station.

Searches were carried out behind the Steel Wool Factory in the town, where a pair of bloodstained slippers were discovered. Further investigation led the police to excavate the area yesterday, where the two unidentified bodies were recovered.

Investigations continue.
