Police seize firearm in Olympic Gardens

ST ANDREW, Jamaica — A Smith and Wesson pistol and 15 9mm rounds of ammunition were seized along Rhoden Crescent, Olympic Gardens in St Andrew yesterday, the police have reported.

A man has been taken into police custody in relation to the find but his identity is being withheld pending further investigations.

Reports from the Olympic Gardens police are that about 9:30 pm a team of officers was on patrol in the area when the man was seen acting in a manner that arose their suspicion.

He was accosted, searched and the firearm with a magazine containing the ammunition found in his waistband.
