Police arrest five men after firearm found in car

KINGSTON, Jamaica — The police are reporting that five men were taken into custody following the seizure of a firearm on Red Hills Road, Kingston 19 early this morning.

Reports from the Constant Spring police are that a team was conducting a motor vehicle check point about 12:10 am when a white Mitsubishi motorcar with five men aboard was stopped.

The occupants and motor vehicle were searched and one .22 calibre handgun with an empty magazine was found inside the vehicle.

The five men were subsequently arrested.
