Police Commissioner launches probe in arrest of Clark's Town woman

Friday, November 10, 2017

ST ANDREW, Jamaica — Commissioner of Police George Quallo has instructed the Inspectorate of the Constabulary to investigate the incident which led to the arrest and charge of a woman in Clark's Town, Trelawny earlier this week.

A release from the communications arm of the police force said the commissioner has also directed members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force Chaplaincy Branch to make contact with the mother and the family and offer assistance.

It was reported that the woman was detained when she went to a police station to report an alleged assault of her seven-year-old son by his peers at Clark's Town Primary School in the parish.

While there, the police said the woman was behaving disorderly as well as disturbing a nearby court that was in session which led to her arrest.

She was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
