Minister of Education, Youth and Information Senator Ruel Reid has resigned. Prime Minister Andrew Holness made the disclosure this morning adding that he met with Reid regarding certain allegations in the public domain.

The White House says President Donald Trump will meet with leaders of five Caribbean nations on Friday in an effort to strengthen cooperation on security and trade issues.

3. PNP wants reasons for Ruel Reid's resignation made public

Leader of the People's National Party (PNP) Peter Phillips is calling on Prime Minister Andrew Holness to immediately disclose his reasons for firing Ruel Reid from his Cabinet.

The Government of Jamaica has announced that its Embassy in Caracas, Venezuela will be temporarily closed with effect April 1.

5. JTA surprised at Ruel Reid's resignation

The Jamaica Teachers' Association (JTA) has expressed shock at this morning's sudden resignation of Minister of Education, Youth and Information Senator Ruel Reid.

6. PNPYO says Ruel Reid unfit to be a Justice of the Peace

The People's National Party Youth Organisation (PNPYO) is calling on the Custos of St Andrew, Dr Patricia Dunwell to determine if former Minister of Education, Youth and Information Senator Ruel Reid can rightly continue to hold the office of Justice of the Peace (JP) now that he has resigned from his ministerial post.

7. Future of PEP concerns PNP

The Opposition People's National Party (PNP) has expressed concern about the future of the Primary Exit Profile (PEP) examination following the resignation Minister of Education, Youth and Information Senator Ruel Reid this morning.

8. Application deadline set for new BoJ governor

With Brian Wynter's 10-year tenure as governor of the Bank of Jamaica (BoJ) set to end in November when his contract expires, Finance Minister Dr Nigel Clarke has established a search committee to help in identifying the new governor.

A performance audit of the Education, Youth and Information Ministry by the Auditor General's Department (AGD) is to be completed by next month.
