Prominent real estate attorney Jennifer Messado, who is accused of attempting to sell a church property without the owner's consent, was today offered bail in the sum of $800,000 in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court.

2. Four charged for selling fake Campari, DVDs

Four men were yesterday charged with breaches of the Trademark and Copyright Acts by the Counter Terrorism and Organized Crime Investigation Branch (C-TOC) after they were found selling counterfeit goods in the parishes of St Ann and Kingston.

A police constable died this afternoon after falling ill, according to OBSERVER ONLINE sources.

4. Education minister denounces killing of Bog Walk High student

Minister of Education, Youth and Information, Senator Ruel Reid has denounced the killing of 16-year-old Bog Walk High School student, Kevaughn Barnes, who was reportedly stabbed to death by four other teens yesterday.

The Institute of Jamaica (IOJ) yesterday hosted a panel discussion on 'Reparation and the Modern Labour Movement in Jamaica' as part of a year-long focus on the reparations movement in the Caribbean.

6. PNP calls for end to violence against Palestinians

The People's National Party (PNP) says it views with alarm and sadness the death of some 60 Palestinians and wounding of over 2,700 in the Gaza Strip during protest actions against the opening of the United States Embassy in Jerusalem yesterday.

7. NWC launches $15b local bond

The National Water Commission (NWC) says it has established a $15 billion local bond facility arranged by the National Commercial Bank Capital Markets Limited (NCBCM).

8. Global demand for air conditioning to triple by 2050 — report

The worldwide demand for air conditioning is expected to triple over the next 30 years, making the pursuit of energy-efficient cooling systems a top priority, the International Energy Agency said Tuesday.

9. Missing Commonwealth Games athletes resurface, want asylum in Australia

A number of African athletes who went missing from the Commonwealth Games last month have resurfaced seeking advice on gaining asylum in Australia, refugee advocates said Tuesday.

10. PCJ powers Jamaica invitational with $12-m sponsorship

The Petroleum Corporation of Jamaica (PCJ) is providing $12 million sponsorship package for the Jamaica International Invitational Meet (JIIM), which is scheduled for Saturday at the National Stadium.
