Missing Clarendon girl found dead

CLARENDON, Jamaica — A missing teenage girl was found dead in the Georges Pen district in Clarendon yesterday.

Stefika Smith, 17, of Strawberry Hill in Four Paths, Clarendon was reported missing since Saturday, May 11.

The May Pen police said a passer-by saw her body about 10:30 am and summoned them.

On arrival of the lawmen, the body was found lying on grass along the roadway, close to a cane field.

The police said Stefika's throat was slashed in addition to several other wounds.

The police are asking anyone with information that can assist their investigations to contact the May Pen Criminal Investigations Branch (CIB) at 876-995-8670, police 119 emergency number or the nearest police station.
