Man shot dead on Spur Tree main road

MANCHESTER, Jamaica — The Constabulary's Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) has confirmed that the body of a man was found on the Spur Tree main road yesterday.

He is identified as Orville Newell, otherwise called 'Rambo' and 'Colour.'

Newell is said to be a furniture maker who resided in Greenvale in Manchester and Rose Hall, St Elizabeth.

Police reports are that residents in the Spur Tree area heard explosions yesterday about 7:00am and his body was later found along the main road.

Newell was pronounced dead at hospital.

No motive has yet been established for the killing.
