KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaica, along with other nations across the world, will be observing International peace day on September 21.

This year's peace initiative, which is spearheaded by the United Nations, will be held under the theme: “Together for Peace: Respect, Safety and Dignity for All.”

The United Nation says International Day of Peace will focus on engaging and mobilising people throughout the world to show support for refugees and migrants.

Jamaica will be celebrating the day with a series of activities in schools, churches and communities across the island tomorrow.

One such activity is a “Midday Meditation”, where schools will pause for peace from 11:57 am to 12 noon.
