ST JAMES, Jamaica — Two men were yesterday shot dead in separate incidents in St James, while two others were shot and injured and are currently in critical condition at hospital.

Police reports are that 31-year-old Desmond Clarke otherwise called 'Dangles' was shot dead along Sunset Boulevard in the parish.

The lawmen said gunmen travelling in a Toyota Corolla pulled up to the car in which Clarke was travelling with two others and opened fire at them.

Clarke was wounded in the 3:00 pm attack and was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The other passengers in the car escaped injuries, the police said.

In another incident, reports are that about 6:30 pm gunmen shot and injured a 42-year-old a taxi operator along Central Avenue in the parish.

Police said the injured man was admitted to hospital and is in serious condition.

Then a few others later, about 7:15 pm, Ralbert Reid — a farmer and shop owner of Dundee, St James — was inside his shop when gunmen entered and opened fire hitting him and injuring one other man.

The 59-year-old was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead while the injured man is still admitted in serious condition.
