Grenada records first homicide for 2018

ST GEORGE'S, Grenada (CMC) — Grenadian authorities have charged a 37-year-old man with the murder of former police officer, Curtis Calliste, as Grenada records its first murder for 2018.

Police said that the 42-year-old former police officer was killed on Monday in the St Patrick community and that Glen Andrew had been charged with the offence and will appear at the Sauteurs Magistrate's Court on Thursday.

The former police officer had been stabbed several times.

Family members said that Andrew was a frequent visitor of the island's lone mental institution.
