Firearm, ganja seized from woman in Trelawny

KINGSTON, Jamaica — The police have reported that a Trelawny woman is in custody on suspicion of breaches of the Firearms Act following her arrest in Falmouth in the parish yesterday.

Reports received from the Falmouth Police are that about 7:30 pm the woman was at a public event when she was accosted by a police team; a bag that she was carrying was searched and a 9mm pistol fitted with a magazine containing ten 9mm rounds of ammunition along with ganja weighing approximately one pound was found.

Arrangements are being made for the woman to be interviewed in the presence of her attorney.
