Fire destroys classroom, library at Wakefield Primary

WAKEFIELD, Trelawny – Fire destroyed a classroom and the library at the Wakefield Primary School in Trelawny last night.
Reports from the Falmouth Fire Department are that about 7:00 pm, fire was seen coming from a section of the school’s library. Two units, one from Montego Bay and the other from Falmouth, responded to the blaze.
According to District Officer at the Falmouth Fire Department, Oniel Bryson, residents as well as off duty firefighters assisted in bringing the fire under control.
It is not known if the buildings were insured. Loss is estimated at $2.5 million.
