Fatal crash on PJ Patterson Highway

ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — A vehicular collision along the PJ Patterson Highway in Old Harbour, St Catherine claimed the life of a man and left two others nursing injuries, the police have confirmed.

The police are now probing the circumstances surrounding the death of the man who has been identified as Dorren Baker, a forklift operator of Riverside Drive, Seaforth, St Thomas.

According to reports from the Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) Baker was driving a Mitsubishi Galant motor car heading towards May Pen about 9:00 am. He allegedly lost control of the vehicle and crashed into back of parked Toyota Hiace mini bus.

CCU said Baker, the driver of the mini bus, and one other man received injures and were taken to hospital where Baker was pronounced dead.

The mini bus driver was treated and released while the other man was admitted.
