Cyclist killed in Portmore hit-and-run

ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — The Portmore police are seeking the driver of a motorcar that hit a pedal cyclist on Municipal Boulevard in St Catherine last night.

The cyclist, 48-year-old Leroy Campbell, a mason of Central Village in the parish died of injuries he sustained in the collision.

Reports are that about 8:00 pm Campbell was riding his bicycle when he was hit by a motor vehicle; the driver did not stop. The police were summoned and Campbell was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead. No details on the car were ascertained.

Anyone with information that can assist the police with their investigation is being asked to contact the Portmore police at 949-8422, police 119 emergency number or the nearest police station.
