KINGSTON, Jamaica —Dr Andre Haughton and Damion Crawford of the People's National Party (PNP) were sworn in to the Senate a short while ago.

Haughton— the PNP caretaker for St James West Central — is replacing Noel Sloley who resigned recently from the Upper House of Parliament, while Crawford was reappointed following his defeat in the Portland Eastern by-election.

Crawford had resigned from the Senate to contest the April 4 election but was defeated by the governing Jamaica Labour Party's Ann-Marie Vaz — polling 9,670 to her 9,989.
