Crash near UTECH causes power outage in Papine, surrounding areas — JPS

KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Jamaica Public Service (JPS) Company says a motor vehicle crash in the vicinity of the University of Technology (UTECH) in St Andrew, has resulted in a broken pole and damage to a section of its power delivery system.

JPS says it will need to suspend supply to customers fed by the affected power distribution line, between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm, in order to carry out repair work.

The areas that will be affected by the outage are:

UTECH

Papine

August Town

Dallas

Constitution Hill

Tavern

Gordon Town

Gordon Town Road and all roads leading off

Mountain Spring

Mavis Bank and all surrounding areas

Irish Town

New Castle

Maryland
