Businessman murdered in Kingston

KINGSTON, Jamaica — The police are reporting that fifty-year-old Arnie Francis, Manager of Alliance Investment of Buttercup Drive, Kingston 6 was shot and killed by unknown assailants at his home in the parish yesterday.

Reports from the Matildas Corner Police are that about 9:25pm Francis was entering his premises when he and a female companion were pounced upon by a lone gunman who opened fire at them before making his escape. Residents heard the explosions and summoned the police.

On the arrival of the police, Francis was reportedly seen with gunshot wounds to the upper body while the female companion was seen with a gunshot wound to the leg. They were both taken to hospital where Francis later succumbed to his injuries, while the femalewas admitted in stable condition.

Police say investigations continue.
