TRELAWNY, Jamaica — Seventy-six-year-old Hyacinthia Wright, wife of former Falmouth mayor, the late Joseph Wright was found with her throat slashed at her business place in Falmouth this afternoon.

According to police reports, the elderly woman, who was affectionately called Miss Little, was found about 4:30pm lying at the back of the building along Trelawny Street where she sells craft items.

The police have not established a motive for the killing.

The senior citizen became a widow in October 2013 after the death of her husband, a day after he was recognised by the Trelawny Parish Council for his 22 years of service in politics. At the time, he was one of the country's longest serving mayors.
