22-y-o labourer held with loaded gun in Cassava Piece

KINGSTON, Jamaica — A 22-year-old man, who the police say was held with a loaded 9mm pistol in Cassava Piece yesterday, has been charged with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition.

Everton Brown otherwise called 'Eva', a labourer residing in the Kingston community, was reportedly accosted and searched during a police operation at the intersection of Cassie Lane and Glen Drive.

This was when the police reportedly found one silver 9mm pistol along with a magazine containing thirteen 9mm rounds of ammunition. Brown was subsequently arrested.

He is scheduled to appear before the Kingston and St Andrew parish court on Friday, October 6.

Investigations continue.
