Johnny Live series goes 'musical'

Tuesday, October 17, 2017

This evening's confirmed performers at Johnny Live Comedy Bar series are entertainer Beekle Bailey, beat boxer Mixing Lab, and entertainer Grandpa.

Since its new season resumed on September 5, the Johnny Live Comedy Bar has continued to entertain while attracting a diverse crowd each Tuesday night at 100 on Hope Road in St Andrew.

Creator and promoter of the series, Christopher “Johnny” Daley, said tonight's offering is dubbed the 'Musical Edition'.

“It's the Musical Edition because there will be a diversified line-up of persons who also entertain musically,” Daley told the Jamaica Observer.

“The current season comes to an end on Tuesday, October 31. We have many requests to take it around the island. So far, Old Harbour and Montego Bay are areas that we are looking at. We will resume in Kingston at our present location in early 2018,” he continued.

He explained the reason for the success of the series, which restarted on September 5.

“Comedy is where you can relax yourself, free your mind. There's a feel-good element to it.”

Last week's event saw performances from Kathy Grant, playwright/television personality Dahlia Harris, and former TOK member Alex McCalla.

The Johnny Live Comedy Bar series had its beginning at Buzzers in Portmore, St Catherine, last year. Since its relocation to Kingston, the event continues to dominate the weekly entertainment calendar.
