KINGSTON'S iconic landmark, Devon House will host a series of 'Haunted Mansion Encounters', including Devon Duppy Night Tours, starting on October 27 – November 3, 2017, from midnight to 6:00 pm.

The events at the historic house museum feature fascinating cultural insights and rich story-telling traditions, utilising the creative talents of celebrated playwright Michael Holgate and an amazing cast of characters.

Patrons of varying ages can expect “a hair-raising, creepy experience” with Total Event & Media Solutions creating a dramatic light and sound audio-visual presentation to enhance the experience of the mansion's history.

The Haunted Mansion Encounters include Duppy School Days, October 27 and November 3, 2017, 10:00 am – 3:00 pm, for ages 12 plus; Fright Night Tours Costume Party, 8:00 pm – 2:00 am at the Reggae Mill Bar October 28, 2017, for ages 18 plus, and “Kiddies Trick or Treat Costume Party” for children on October 29, 2017, 3:00 to 8:00 pm, for ages 2-11.

The Devon Duppy Haunted Mansion Encounters celebrate the legacy of Mr George Steibel, Jamaica's first black millionaire, who built the house in 1881 in what was then called “Millionaires Row”.

Designated a national monument by the Government of Jamaica, Devon House is reported to still be “home” for some of the persons who occupied the mansion throughout its 136-year history.
