Dancehall artiste Thugsy Malone (formerly known as Bugsy Malone) is all set on scoring that breakthrough with his latest single Lord Wash Away the Pain.

"I have been busy recording songs but, my fans will be seeing me more on the fore front like never before. I just want my fans to know although my name changed from Bugsy to Thugsy Malone" he quipped.

A video for the single was recently directed by Ezra.

The artiste has been busy in the studios and is set to drop a number of singles including Mi Luv Yuh Wine on the Rum Fire rhythm, Sort Out Now for Truck Back Records and Live Today for Warriors Music.

Khalilah Rose ready to bloom

Rising reggae singer Khalilah Rose says she is ready for the music market. The artiste whom many have likened to songbird Etana, says she is bringing a positive message of truth and awareness as well as consciousness and reality.

Asked why she decided to pursue music, she was quick to point out, "I'm a music lover and music is in my blood. Over the years I have come to realise that the world needs to be a better place and I have decided to use music as my tool to help improve the world," she explained.

Originally from Bull Bay in St. Andrew, Khalilah recently released an EP titled Zion's Lullaby. "I worked with Carl Purpose, Dean Fraser, and various up and coming producers on the EP. There are also collaborations with Turbulence and Lutan Fyah. This is more than music, it's my experiences, my struggles, my joys and my hopes for the world," she explained.

Bridgez drops Cry

Singer and deejay Bridgez has seen the fruits of her labour finally paying off. After embarking on promotional rounds in the New York tri-state area for her latest single Cry.

The track which was produced by Echo One productions also features newcomer Sahie.

Cry is featured on the Back to Reality rhythm. The project is a fusion of pop elements and boasts an international appeal. Several established and up and coming acts decorate the project.

Bridgez is getting ready to finalise the video for Cry. In the meantime, she has been busy working with a number of Jamaica's top producers, including Factor from Renaissance Productions, Diavallon Fearon who produced her single Han Up Deh; and Blaqk Sheep.

Here comes

Allan Kerfew

One of the hottest songs on rotation in the New York tri-state area comes from the combination of a Jamaican and a Haitian artiste.

Allan Kerfew, who hails from Bog Walk, St Catherine, and Bigga Haitian have teamed up to modernise the John Holt-penned My Best Girl.

Currently, the song has reached the play-lists of some of New York/tri state top radio personalities as well as other markets.

Bigga Haitian is a very well known New York-based deejay, however, Allan Kerfew is relatively new to reggae fans.

Being influenced by the likes of Delroy Wilson, Bob Marley, Elvis Presley, Dobby Dobson and John Holt, Allan Kurfew was later introduced to the legendary Lee 'Scratch' Perry, who took Allan into the studio to record his first song, the self-penned Just A Dream.

CHART UPDATES

Adele crowns a 19th non-consecutive week at the top of the Billboard 200 album chart with 21. Alternative music sensation Lana Del Rey debuts at the number two spot with Born to Die which sold 77,000 copies.

Thanks to radio assistance and exposure from her Super Bowl performance last Sunday, Madonna is back on active chart duty. Her greatest hits album Celebration jumps back onto the charts, selling 16,000 copies to secure the number 24 spot on the Billboard 200. However, she fares better on the Billboard Hot 100 as the single Give Me All Your Lovin featuring MIA and Nicki Minaj blasts in at number 13. The single debuts at number seven on Billboard's Digital Singles chart selling over 120,000 downloads.

There is a new number one on the Billboard Hot 100 this week. Adele's fire has been doused as Set Fire to the Rain falls to number two to make way for Kelly Clarkson's Stronger. This is Clarkson's third number one single following 2002's A Moment like This and 2009's My Life Would Suck without You.

Over on the UK album chart, Lana Del Rey finds better luck as Born to Die debuts at number one. The UK pop singles chart is invaded by David Guetta as Titanium featuring singer Sia takes the top spot.
