Sunday, February 19, 2012
COME March, Cedella Marley, will launch her High Tide swimwear collection. Her newest line is produced by merchandise company, Zion Rootswear.
Marley, eldest daughter of reggae legend Bob Marley, is known for her Catch a Fire and Nice Time clothing line as well her recent project which saw her collaborating with athletic manufacturing giant PUMA.
She has written a number of children's books with themes about her father.
These brands join a long list of official Marley merchandise which include caps, lanyards, T-shirts, caps, rolling papers, handbags and purses, belts and buckles, incense, beach towels and knapsacks.
Cedella's sibling, Rohan, recently launched Marley Coffee, a line of exotic blends cultivated in the Blue Mountains. Each blend bears the name of a song from the King of Reggae.
Influential business publication Forbes magazine reports that at the time of his death, 30 years ago, Bob Marley was worth US$30 million. The magazine estimated the reggae superstar's posthumous earnings at US$9 million just between September 2002 and September 2003. His music catalogue alone is estimated to worth about US$100 million.
Marley died in May 1981 of cancer at age 36.
