Reggae singer Chris Martin will be riding the chart success of his debut album Big Deal, as he heads out on his first major North American tour to deliver what he calls "real-life music, earnest, honest songs about everyday realities".

The 30-stop tour, which began in Boston on Friday, will take the singer, known for tracks such as Paper Lovin, Take My Love, Cheater’s Prayer, Chill Spot and Big Deal, across the length and breadth of continental United States of America before ending with a gig on May 20 in the city of Regina in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan.

" I am really looking forward to this tour. This album is multifaceted, with a song on it for everybody. I look forward to seeing all the fans along the road," said Martin.

The stops along the way include: Brooklyn, New York; Raleigh, North Carolina; Chicago, Illinois; San Diego, California; Kansas City, Missouri; Dallas, Texas; and Seattle, Washington in the USA. Over in Canada his spots are located in Victoria and Vancouver, British Colombia and Calgary, Alberta. Performances in the Central American state of Costa Rica, and Grenada in the eastern Caribbean have also been woven into his schedule during this period.

Martin came to prominence when he won the Digicel Rising Stars talent competition in 2005. Since then, his steady string of popular tracks has ensured that he has remained in the public eye. In 2014 he diversified his profile by taking on the leading role in his first feature film
Destiny and in 2016 his song Big Deal became the jingle for fast food giant KFC.
