Darrio, top newcomer

BY KEVIN JACKSON Observer writer

SINGER Darrio is undoubtedly the hottest new act in 2012. The dancehall artiste had his best year to date, being the only newcomer to score a number one song locally.

He collaborated with deejay Konshens on the number one single Siddung produced by Washroom Entertainment.

One of Darrio's standout moments was a strong performance at Reggae Sumfest, during Konshens' set.

School Fee was another song that did well for Darrio. Released on the beat of the same name, it entered various charts and gave him the attention he craved.

Darrio recently signed a management deal with Subkonshus Music. In a recent interview with Jamaica Observer, he spoke about the strides he made in 2012.

"I am really happy with the way things are looking, because I am already seeing the results and the impact in terms of shows and media exposure. The promotion tun up so it's a good look," he said.

His latest single is Hurry Up.
