BACCHANAL Jamaica, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary, will add a twist to the Carnival season with its pre-season fete at the New Mas Camp, Stadium North, next Friday.
"This year we're doing it a little different. We'll be launching the costume section and road march theme. Normally, this is done in February," says Michael Ammar Jr, director of Bacchanal Jamaica. "Patrons have the opportunity to start booking their costumes early."
Ammar Jr says the event is a springboard to Carnival's launch and expects a great turnout.
"For years patrons have been clamouring from as early as October for the costume designs' release. And, Trinidad and Tobago has a similar format," he says.
The theme for Bacchanal Jamaica's 2013 season is Le Masquerade. According Ammar Jnr, there will be other changes for the fete.
"We'll be making the venue is a little more intimate and it's gonna be a drink-inclusive party," he said.
DJ Smoke and Trinidadian disc jockey Duchess will provide soundtracks for the evening.
Renee Hartley, Bacchanal Jamaica's 2013 representative, said patrons should expect an exciting season.
"Our patrons, both new and old, can expect each event to unmask something even more entertaining and electrifying than the last. 2013 is going to be our best season yet," she said.
The season will host its Friday fetes starting February 15. The events are: Socacise, starting February 18; Beach J'Ouvert on March 30; Soca at the Sandbar on April 3; and Bacchanal J'Ouvert on April 5.
Le Masquerade culminates with a fashion and road parade on Sunday, April 7, in the Corporate Area.
