Put common sense in the crime-fight

Dear Editor,

A resident recently described a joint police and army operation in Bull Bay. The trucks and jeeps rolled into the community and the soldiers and police jumped out. Then they went into a huddle for about 20 minutes, speaking in whispered tones, obviously finalising their 'plan'. Then they dispersed in various directions, presumably in search of wanted men.

By this time all the 'gunmen' had seen the circus pull into town, finished their breakfast, and made their way to their hideouts in the hills and neighbouring communities.

This highlights the woeful lack of leadership and common sense in our security forces. And it's little wonder we are losing the war against criminals.
