Dear Editor,

I am seeing the Ministry of Education sending out communication about the “facts” regarding the issue of funding to schools. I recommend to the ministry that all it needs to do is place a breakdown of all the funding to all schools on the ministry's website for all to see.

This 10-point release still does not adequately display the macro and micro picture and only leads to more confusion and contention for all the parties involved.

I think everyone will want to know what each school gets for Programme for Advancement Through Health and Education and the myriad other expenses that schools are obliged to cover each year.

Placing such information online will allow parents and other stakeholders, who may want to give more funding to the education sector, to see specific areas in need of assistance.

We IT people get to solutions when we place data in charts and Excel sheets and find ways to communicate the results using the same Excel tables.
