ATL Automotive's Honda showroom buzzed with excitement on Wednesday morning ahead of the 2018 Honda CR-V launch. And that was quite understandable — Jamaica's favourite SUV would be raising the bar.

After the covers were pulled from two models in the showroom's centre, the excitement was indeed justified.

“It's a special time for us here at Honda. We have so much to celebrate as we enter our 20th year of carrying the Honda brand under the leadership of the ATL Automotive Group. We have our brand new standalone showroom in Montego Bay boasting 3,000 sq feet and a six-car display that serves the North Coast and, most importantly, the reason we're all gathered here today — the all-new CR-V,” said Vasil Lee, Honda's head of business.

“The all-new 2018 Honda CR-V has been redesigned with you in mind. More space for you to fill it with whatever you need it to have. More features for added convenience like power sliding seats and automatic power-tailgate. More safety features like a multi-angle rear-view camera. A stylish exterior with LED headlights and stunning panoramic sunroof to take in all the views of our beautiful Jamaica,” he continued.

The new Honda CR-V is reimagined from the ground up and packed with the latest technology. It now boasts automatically activated LED headlights and fog lights. Keyless entry and remote start adds to the appeal.

It comes in two trim levels — leather and fabric — and both are available in front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. The interior brings together an impressive collection of features and conveniences thoughtfully designed to create a truly superior driving experience.

“In regards to the space it offers, the 2018 CR-V's leg room and head room have been improved. Even as the driver, you have a wider, bolder stance in the car. You have more cargo space in terms of cubic feet,” said Lee.

The seven-inch touch screen display is outfitted with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, providing totally connectivity for all your devices.

The most powerful CR-V yet, the new model has a 1.5-litre turbo-charged engine being pulled by 190 horses. But is fuel efficient enough to give the owner 33 miles per gallon.

“It's quicker and more fuel efficient... it's safe. This vehicle is for everybody as it has something for everybody to enjoy,” Lee added.

The new Honda CR-V can be yours starting at $5.85 million.
