KEY Motors — local exclusive dealer of Hyundai vehicles — showcased their newest offerings to public at the Liguanea branch of the Bank of Nova Scotia last Friday.
"Today [Friday], we're having a promotion displaying our 2012 vehicles which will be taking the market by storm," said Tamoya Chen, sales representative at Key Motors. "So what we're doing is getting persons acquainted in order for them to see, ask questions about financing, and purchase if they like."
On display were the premium sports utility vehicles — the seven-seater Santa Fe and and the five-seater Tucson. Also represented were the elegant-looking sedan, the Sonata; the Accent; and, hip Veloster.
Chen was quick to point out that current 100-metre World Champion and the holder of the second-fastest time in the 200m, sprint sensation Yohan Blake owned a Veloster.
"This car is young, hot and hype. It basically glides on the road and, pretty soon, every other vehicle on the road will be a Veloster," she said.
She said the three-door car came with a raft of features including reverse camera and sensors, blue-tooth technology which enables hands-free calling, and a sun and moon roof.
"You never see another car like this," she quipped.
The 1.6-litre gasoline direct injection (GDI), four-cylinder, six-speed engine produces 138-horsepower at 6,300 revs per minute.
The four-seat Veloster has a remote keyless entry system with alarm and is equipped with an EcoShift Dual Clutch Transmission. The feature is designed to minimize backward rolling when starting from a stop on steep ascents.
"We service and stock parts for all our vehicles," Chen said.
According to the sales representative, the price tag for the Veloster is $3.3 million.
