Key to enjoying your life to its fullest is living for a purpose and not just existing. To achieve this ideal, you have to develop and exercise certain tools and make certain decisions and adjustments that will make your life more purposeful.

You should first establish that all the categories for optimal satisfaction are being prioritized – the spiritual, professional, social and physical. None of these should be neglected at the expense of the other.

So establish early:

1. What are your likes and dislikes? Ask yourself this question and be honest with yourself about the answers.

2. Assure yourself. You have to encourage yourself to become what you desire. You therefore will have to speak your standards to being in order to believe in them. You basically breathe life into your standards.

3. You have to then make decisions to follow the path you set out for yourself. It may require you deciding to end a toxic relationship or friendship, so be prepared. If your standards conflict with your current state of affairs, then adjustments will have to be made. If it is that your job, for example, goes against your morals, it is time to consider a new job. Making decisions is crucial to realising your true destiny.

4. Act on purpose. Decide to follow your heart even if the world is against you. You, and only you, can purpose your life forward.
