Benefits of circuit workouts

All Woman

CIRCUIT training is an intense exercise routine where you do rapid exercises 30 seconds at a time, one after another. The entire activity gives a full body workout in 20-30 minutes. Due to the nature of circuit training, people often question its efficiency. But Rohan Gordon, fitness trainer at Eden Gardens Wellness Resort & Spa, told All Woman that circuit training is quite beneficial.

He said the routine includes a variety of moves — you can skip, do push-ups, do weight lifting, squats, walk briskly or even ride a bicycle. This unique routine is perfect for anyone who wants to lose weight because it targets all areas of your body. It is also perfect for lazy people — because it is fun, you will not notice that you are exercising.

Circuit training also gives you the freedom to switch up your routine at any time. What is even better is that you can do it at the gym or in other places. No equipment is necessary — you can opt for exercises that use your own body weight.

Below are some benefits of circuit workouts:

• Fitness levels increase

•It tones your body quickly

•It builds your muscles

•It challenges your entire body — your core, arms, glutes, legs and back

• It makes you stronger

• It gives an added cardio boost

• Increase in stamina

• Higher metabolism rate

• You get cardio and strength training at the same time

As with other exercises, however, you must consult a general practitioner before starting.
